I graduated from PBHS in 70 after transferring from Vero Beach High School B Team Cheerleader, athlete, surfer, swim team diver. I had attended 3rd thru the middle of 12th grade. I was on the PBHS Swim Team as a diver when I moved to WPB.. I attended PBJC studying recreation. I married Mark Schumacher in 1973, He graduated from Lake Worth high school in 1970. He grew up in Lantana and we had met at PBJC. We resided in Gainesville while he went to college at UF. We moved back to Palm beach county in 1974 and I was employed at Century Village as a recreational instructor at the main club house. Mark chose a path much different than mine. He fared well and I am still trying to figure out what is fare.or fair. ?
I was later employed at the YWCA as an Asst. Program Director / Gymnastic Instructor and Coach. Our team traveled the Florida area in competitions. Unfortunately in 1975 I was in a car accident and it abruptly ended my career as an instructor and coach.
In 1976 I returned to Vero, married and started family life. I worked in 2 different trades while in Vero. I followed my father and brothers footsteps in the automotive parts /automobile industry. I also excelled in the Horticulture / Nursery business.
In 1986 I moved to Middle Tennessee with my daughter Lacy and my immediate family. 2 Marriages down now.... I continued in the Automotive field both in dealerships, retail stores and even ran a trucking company's parts dept which gave me the responsibility of keeping my parts department ready for an influx at anytime of 100 Tractors and an additional inventory of 175 trailers on the road fully operational and serviced. A huge responsibility in itself, not to mention all the crap you get from OTR drivers and mechanics..LOL
While living in Tennessee I co-owned and operated a dairy farm, raised, sold and traded horses and ponies. I also had an 11 year run of raising registered Cocker Spaniels, registered Boer Goats. My farms were named Windsong Ridge.
I built 3 houses and remodeled one. The remodel was on Center Hill Lake and was purchased from Pam Tillis. I met and lived around many country western musicians. Tracy Lawrence, Billy Dean, Aaron Tipton, John Anderson and Alan Jackson..oh Lulu too. (Hee Haw fame)
Unfortunately nothing beats Florida in my mind. I returned to Vero Beach, Florida in 2008 and have since retired from the Indian River County Sheriff's Office as a records Specialist.
I have 3 grandchildren. My youngest daughter resides in TN. MY oldest daughter resides in Vero Beach. I shoot billiards, play backgammon. I still enjoy the water be it the river or ocean, fishing, mudding and being in the sun and pool. I no longer sing a lot I a few times a week at gigs and jams.
I previously returned to biking again after 25 years following the death of my brother in 2001. I have owned Yamaha's, Kawasaki and most recently Harley Davidson motorcycles.
My last bikes, all Harleys with my being a Dyna Low Rider was sold in 2018.
I am the founder of Indian River Bike Night, which ran for 3.5 years. I gave it up December 18, 2012. I belong to the Vero Beach Eagle Riders, am a charter member of the Sebastian Eagle Riders, and ABATE of Florida.
I am current involved in music. I sing with a few assorted bands and also karaoke weekly. I have had the pleasure of singing with Harold Seay, formerly of KC and the Sunshine Band. And Dave Scott formerly of David Shelley and the Bluestones and the Tuff Love Band. I love music...
I'm not loving retirement. Bored.. looking for the right man to sweep me off my feet, out to sea, wherever..

School of Hard Knocks!
And it is still knocking as I learn something new everyday.
Last lesson is: Life isn't fair
and Justice is BLIND!
funniest and favorite story- Sue and I on a swim Team trip to state competition.. Wonder if Gaye remembers any of that night...LOL!!! She woke up with toothpaste in her hair courtesy of Sue and I.. Sorry Gaye.. Sue and i are still pranksters. Although Sandie Sawyer and I used to get silly doing the cloverleaf at Okeechobee Rd and I-95 repeatedly while under somethings influence... So funny. Bad thing is.. It's no longer there.
